Break Management

As an independent contractor:

• It is your responsibility to coordinate with the facility regarding breaks.
• The decision to take a break or not during your shift is between you and the facility.
• Quinable does not have the authority to intervene in how breaks are handled or compensated.

Why Are Breaks Important?

Many facilities schedule mandatory unpaid meal breaks to comply with local labor laws and regulations. Taking your break ensures you are working within the guidelines set by the facility.

If you do not take your scheduled break, you may still see a deduction for the unpaid break period. It is crucial to address this with the facility if there are any concerns.

What Should I Do If I Didn’t Take My Break?

If you didn’t take your break, follow these steps:

1. Communicate With the Facility
   • Reach out to the facility’s management to discuss the missed break.
   • Confirm whether adjustments can be made for your shift’s payout.
2. Understand Facility Policies
   • Each facility has its own break policies that you are expected to follow.
   • Ensure you are aware of these policies before starting your shift.
3. Plan Ahead
   • If you anticipate being unable to take a break, notify the facility in advance to align expectations.

Quinable provides the platform to connect independent contractors with facilities but does not have control over:

• Facility-specific break policies.
• Decisions regarding whether breaks are taken or compensated.
• Adjustments to payments related to missed breaks.
